Ecolab is a leading company in the chemical manufacturing industry .
Ecolab Barcelona was responsible for the replenishment strategy of 20 plants and planners were doing this process manually by using excel.
Nur Masoud, the founder of Parlon Solutions, led the project while working at Ecolab Barcelona.
The problem
Planners were spending many hours to review the replenishment strategy for over 10k SKUs. While they had their own mechanisms to do that, they needed a tool that can automate this process at least by 70%.
The solution
The tool is built in conjunction with Azure Data Factory, SQL and Power BI.
The project lasted 6 months in total.
The value
Ecolab saved around 2.1m € from the inventory optimisation and 60 hours monthly saved to automate the tasks.
The tool is still being used after 3 years of its development.
